The base hourly rate for this position is $35.64.What You Bring to the Team:High School diploma or GEDCertified Journeyman MechanicFlexibility in work hours and assignmentsStrong understanding of mechanical systems and industrial equipment.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.Experience with troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance in a plant or industrial environment.Commitment to safety and adherence to all company policies.Ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members.Strong communication and documentation skills.Your Day to Day:Safety & CompliancePromote and support safe work practices in alignment with company policies and environmental commitments.Continuously work in a safe manner and report safety hazards immediately.Follow all safety guidelines for the Defiance Complex, including the use of proper PPE.Maintain housekeeping standards and ensure clean work areas.Attend all required monthly safety meetings.Complete monthly safety/beware audits and all mandatory computer‑based training.Preventative & Corrective MaintenancePerform mechanical preventative maintenance on equipment according to established schedules.Inspect, diagnose, lubricate, adjust, and repair mechanical systems as needed.Remove faulty equipment from service until fully repaired and safe for operation.Troubleshoot plant equipment efficiently to identify issues and perform necessary repairs, replacements, or rebuilds.Technical DutiesRead, interpret, and work from blueprints, sketches, and technical documents.Perform accurate measurements and calculations required for job completion.Complete required documentation, including work orders, requisitions, inspection reports, time logs, and material usage records.Operate, maintain, inspect, and repair plant systems and support structures.Perform gas cutting and assist with building maintenance.Cast concrete forms and bollards as needed.Team Collaboration & LeadershipMaintain an open, honest, and professional relationship with your supervisor/manager.Direct, assist, and instruct other maintenance employees when teamwork is required.Support and mentor Maintenance Apprentices to help them develop required skills and meet program expectations.Perform additional duties as assigned to support plant operations, including tasks associated with lower classifications when needed.Why Join Us?Opportunity to work in a high‑performance manufacturing environmentSupportive leadership and a culture dedicated to safetyGrowth opportunities, including mentorship rolesComprehensive training and development programsPlease Keep in MindIf you do not meet 100% of these requirements, we at JM still want to hear from you.
