Creative Artists Agency (CAA), is the world's leading full service entertainment, media, and sports agency. We represent many of the most successful professionals working in television, film, music, theatre, video games, sports, and digital content. We are currently seeking an Assistant to support the Lead Business Affairs Executive in the fast-growing Creators and Media & Entertainment Partnerships departments. The position offers an opportunity to learn about business affairs, work with industry executives, agents, and lawyers, and gain meaningful exposure to entertainment law. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, who is curious about the business and legal aspects of the digital and new media industries with a desire to support influencers, streamers, podcasters, gamers, and other digital long and short form content creators.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently support an executive responsible for negotiating deals for talent and production company clients in digital and new media
  • General administrative duties including handling phones, managing calendars, and expenses
  • Editing, proofreading, summarizing, and redlining agreements and correspondence under the supervision of the Executive
  • Depending on skill and motivation to learn, Assistant will gain hands-on experience reviewing, draft, redlining, and commenting on a variety of digital and new media agreements
  • Maintain an awareness of the executive's obligations to proactively assist and/or anticipate needs
  • Serve as first point of contact with clients, buyers/brands, Agents, and Executives
  • Assist with special projects, research, and compiling information as needed

Requirements

  • Interest in pursuing a career in entertainment law preferred
  • Strong legal writing skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure; meet tight deadlines; manage multiple projects and expectations; and maintain a sharp focus while managing competing priorities
  • Attention to detail and strong organization skills are a must
  • Strong interpersonal skills, while understanding the importance of maintaining confidentiality
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with employees at all levels
  • Strong command of the Microsoft Office suite
  • Familiarity with influencer, brand or other entertainment contracts is preferred, but not required
  • Education
  • JD required; Bar license preferred
