Responsibilities
- Manages college equipment inventories, property records, new acquisitions, surplus activities, asset tracking, and physical inventory audits in coordination with the Property Department.
- Maintains records of physical server locations, rack assignments, and equipment installations and assists with server deployment and rack mounting projects.
- Supports college laboratories, maker spaces, server rooms, and technical facilities by coordinating repairs, infrastructure improvements, cooling and power requirements, and facilities work orders.
- Assists faculty, staff, laboratory managers, facilities personnel, property custodians, and other stakeholders with the daily operation, maintenance, and improvement of college facilities and equipment.
- Provides operational support for college events, outreach activities, conferences, demonstrations, tours, and special events, including equipment setup, teardown, transportation, and after-hours and/or weekend support as needed.
- Coordinates laboratory and facility safety programs, safety training, emergency preparedness activities, and compliance documentation.
- Provides backup support for building access management and office and laboratory setup activities to address ongoing college operational needs.
- Maintains documentation, procedures, inventories, and records related to college equipment, facilities, safety programs, property management, and event support activities.
- Oversees student workers as needed.
- Performs physical activities such as lifting up to 50lbs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6) .
- Ability to perform basic computer setup, troubleshooting, and equipment support.
- Experience in property management, safety programs, security protocols or inventory control.
- Basic mechanical aptitude with experience using tools for equipment assembly, installation, and troubleshooting.
- Exposure to key management systems and electronic door access control.
- Experience tracking equipment, conducting physical inventory audits, and maintaining compliance with institutional property policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of higher education operations, policies, and environments.
- Ability to communicate and coordinate with individuals from varied backgrounds and experiences.
- Health Assessment Required:
- The UCF policy requires completion and passing of a physical exam for this position.
- Special Instructions to the Applicants:
- Position requires a valid Class E driver's license. This position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.
