Based in Global Development Campus, Johor Bahru and our Philippines Development Centre (PDC), this international team provides the capability to pick up graphics and packing concepts from their UK based counterparts and develop these into designs that can be efficiently manufactured at scale . Position Overview: As a Graduate Packaging Engineer at Dyson , you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products are safely, efficiently, and sustainably packaged for distribution. You will work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to design, develop, and optimize packaging that meets quality, cost, and sustainability objectives . This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in packaging development while contributing to innovative solutions in a dynamic R D D environment.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior engineers and stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives .
- Assist in the design and development of packaging solutions for new and existing products, considering factors such as product protection, transportation efficiency, and consumer experience.
- Conduct material research and testing to identify suitable packaging materials that meet performance, cost, and sustainability criteria.
- Support prototype development and testing, including feasibility studies and performance evaluations.
- Utilize CAD software and other design tools to create packaging prototypes and concepts.
- Participate in cross-functional team meetings to provide updates on packaging development progress and address any challenges or concerns.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance packaging design processes, reduce costs, and improve sustainability.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to packaging materials and technologies.
- Document and communicate packaging specifications, test results, and project progress effectively.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Strong understanding of packaging materials, design principles, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office Suite.
