About the role
The Engineering Manager will provide holistic Engineering input into the design and construction of a new Oral Health manufacturing facility, support FAT and SAT testing of equipment, oversee startup and qualification activities, and transition to daily leadership within the Engineering function. Responsibilities
- Design and Engineering of black and clean utilities, process equipment integration, process systems and automation to meet all Haleon and local statutory requirements
- Operations and Maintenance: establish procedures and oversee the operation and maintenance of utilities and process systems. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs.
- Training and onboarding: Shape the future Engineering operating organisation, onboard and upskill them to ensure vertical start-up to the highest benchmark OEEs in the industry.
- Project Management of the Engineering workstream within the new build program from conception through to completion. Coordinate with vendors, contractors and suppliers to meet the project timelines and budget.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all utilities and process systems comply with Haleon, and local statutory requirements / code. Prepare and submit required reports and documentation. Stay updated on changes to regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
- Energy Management Monitor and analyse utility usage to identify opportunities for energy savings.
- Implement energy efficient technologies and practices to meet LEED certification.
- Develop and track key performance indicators related to utility efficiency.
- Safety and Risk Management Develop and implement safety protocols for utility system operations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.
- Train staff on safe operation and emergency response procedures.

- Qualifications and skills
- Essential
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in engineering within an Oral Health manufacturing environment, preferably overseeing utility systems and facilities management.
- In-depth knowledge of engineering principles and safety regulations.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards.
- Strong analytical and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
