Requirements

- Possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (strongly preferred) OR able to obtain a Commercial Driver's License within 6 months of employment.
- Ability to understand and follow safety and environmental policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Ability to don and be annually fit tested for self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) equipment.
- Knowledge and skill with common hand and power tools (i.e. shovel, screwdriver, pipe wrench, drill, reciprocating saw, etc.).
- Ability to adhere to safe working and defensive driving procedures.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for positive customer and contractor interactions are critical.
- Ability to work as a team member within a diverse team.
- Basic computer and internet navigation skills are key.
- Availability for overtime, as needed.
- Availability for natural gas emergency response during the workday, as well as in the evenings and some weekends, when on-call.
- Must be willing and able to meet a 45-minute emergency response time from the geographical center of the Apex area. Emergency response time is a critical measure for the Company and candidates are required to consistently meet this requirement, including when on-call.
- Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience:
- Good mechanical aptitude.
- Flagger experience and/or certification.
