Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of aerial vehicle components, sub-systems and systems
  • Perform modifications to a COTS airframe to incorporate custom avionics and payloads
  • Implement Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) on hardware or feed back assembly/fab issues to engineers.
  • Perform electrical tests for functionality and continuity.
  • Inspect assemblies, PCBs, harnesses for defects and compliance with good workmanship practices.
  • Perform visual/microscope inspection and rework of PCBs with SMT components. Remove and replace through-hole and SMT components using hot air tools
  • Assemble, prototype, fabricate, test, and troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical systems
  • Conduct functional tests and operational checks following assembly or repair to verify proper system functionality and performance

Requirements

  • US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED and the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
  • Ability to work in a rapidly-changing R&D environment
  • Ability to follow detailed fabrication processes of complex prototypes to high degree of quality and accuracy
  • Capable of following technical diagrams and schematics to fabricate and/or route wire harnesses, routing, and termination (crimping, soldering) using various connector types, crimps or soldering.
  • Experienced in operations such as stripping, crimping, termination and labeling of wires and cables.
  • Experience with electrical debug & fault isolation using basic electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, isolation testers)
  • Experience in the fabrication of mechanical and electrical systems using commonly used techniques and tools,
  • Ability to identify issues, communicate them and work with engineers to develop solutions
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
