Formsetter

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience working with various types of formwork in heavy construction
• Must have advanced formwork experience
• Experience with Symons form system and advantage
• Residential basement formwork experience
• Concrete pouring experience and flat concrete finishing experience is an asset
• Knowledge of safe operation of tools
• Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
• Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures
• Hoisting and Rigging experience is an asset
• Valid WHMIS, Health and Safety Awareness Training for Workers and Working at Heights certificates are required.
• Elevated/Aerial Work Platform, confined space a training an asset.

Position Summary Under the direction of the Civil Superintendent, Formsetters are responsible for building, restoring and/or installing of structural formwork from wood or metal forms for the construction of concrete structures. This position requires knowledge of the heavy construction industry. Specifically the practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment, materials, specifications, quality control and safety associated with this industry. You must be proficient at the following tasks: building wood and advanced formwork systems and pouring and placing concrete.
