The United Nations Decade of Healthy Ageing (2021-2030) provides a global framework for improving the lives of older persons through integrated, multisectoral action. Trinidad and Tobago has multiple policies, programmes, services, and stakeholders addressing ageing; however, these are fragmented across sectors. This consultancy will support PAHO/WHO and national partners in developing a comprehensive understanding of the healthy ageing landscape, identifying gaps, and strengthening coordination and implementation. The PAHO/WHO Trinidad and Tobago Country Office (PAHO/WHO TTO CO), covering Trinidad and Tobago, Aruba, Curacao, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba, is the basic organizational unit for technical cooperation with the countries, drawing on PAHO/WHO resources from all levels and all parts of the Organization. Map key stakeholders across government, NGOs, community-based organizations, academia, and the private sector. Document existing healthy ageing initiatives aligned with the four action areas of the Decade of Healthy Ageing. Assess governance, coordination, and partnership mechanisms. Review available data systems, research, and information sources related to ageing. Identify strengths, gaps, overlaps, and opportunities. Develop actionable recommendations to strengthen coordination, planning, and implementation.
