THIS OPPORTUNITY: As an experienced Wetland Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work with a team of talented and skilled environmental and engineering professionals. You will be involved with multiple projects, interacting with clients, regulatory agency staff and project team members. You will need to be flexible and adaptable to working independently and as a part of a team in the office and the field. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of bridge, roadway and water projects. This position would be based in the Indianapolis, Indiana office. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Lead wetland delineations and habitat assessments - Prepare Waters of the US (WOTUS) Reports, Wetland Delineation and Wetland Determination Reports - Prepare IDEM Section 401 and USACE Section 404 permit applications - Develop IDNR Construction in a Floodway permit applications - Prepare environmental documentation including stream evaluations, wetland/stream mitigation and mitigation monitoring plans - Prepare project related environmental documentation in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) as required - Work on multiple projects, maintain timeline for specific project work tasks and work within the established budget - Assist with quality control review of environmental documentation - Interact with clients, regulatory agencies, and staff PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Biology, Natural Resources or related field - 3-5 years minimum of related environmental work experience with emphasis on leading field investigations. - Completed U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Wetland Delineation Training - Demonstrated experience with conducting wetland field delineations - Experience with development of stream and wetland mitigation plans - Demonstrated experience with NEPA, as it relates to transportation projects - Prior NEPA environmental project management experience - Have current Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) NEPA certification - Demonstrated written and oral communication skills - Ability to work both independently and in a team setting - Experience with GIS software and ArcPro - Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word and Excel - Professional Wetland Scientist certification WHY JOIN EGIS?
