Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for radiopharmaceutical-related imaging services , including best practices for preparation, administration, safety, documentation, inventory management, and integration with imaging systems and clinical workflows

  • Critical Skills
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in imaging clinical operations and workflows , with direct experience in nuclear medicine, radioligand therapy and/or radiopharmaceutical services (e.g., Nuclear Medicine Technologist, PET/CT Technologist, CT Technologist with radiopharmaceutical exposure)
  • In-depth knowledge of diagnostic imaging and radiopharmaceutical clinical processes , including safety, regulatory, and quality considerations
  • Proficiency in imaging-specific, including scheduling, documentation, and system integration
  • Understanding of radiopharmaceutical regulatory requirements , safety standards, and best practices (e.g., handling, storage, administration, compliance)
  • Strong ability to balance clinical, operational, financial, and regulatory priorities within imaging and radiopharmaceutical environments
  • Advanced skills using Microsoft applications to analyze, manipulate, and present imaging and radiopharmaceutical-related data
  • Strong time and project management capabilities, including the ability to manage multi-site imaging and radiopharmaceutical initiatives
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of audiences, including clinicians, technologists, operational leaders, vendors, and physicians
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision in complex, evolving clinical environments
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage ambiguity and adapt within highly regulated clinical settings

The Imaging Specialist role supports Diagnostic Imaging Services across the US Oncology Network, with a strong emphasis on radiopharmaceutical, PET and CT operations. This position functions as a subject matter expert on imaging and radiopharmaceutical clinical workflows, departmental best practices, system configuration, and integration. The Imaging Specialist is responsible for supporting the Director of Imaging through benchmarking, data collection, analysis, and the development of communication tools, with particular focus on imaging modalities that involve radiopharmaceutical use, handling, and compliance. This role works closely with the Radiation & Imaging (R&I) Regional Directors to support and manage imaging and radiopharmaceutical-related projects across their regions.
