What will your responsibilities be? In this role, you will: Risk Management: Assess and manage cases involving possible or actual significant harm, ensuring children are protected from abuse. Statutory Assessments: Lead on comprehensive statutory assessments for cases meeting the threshold for social care intervention. S47 Investigations: Undertake robust child protection investigations, providing clear analysis and recommendations. Collaborative Practice: Work directly with children, young people, and families to help them reach their goals and aspirations through child-centered practice. Service Innovation: Contribute to a culture of freedom and support, exploring new and better ways of delivering social work as the sector undergoes government-led reform. Working Arrangements: Hybrid Model: A blend of home working, office presence, and community-based family visits. Expenses: Please note that there are no accommodation costs or travel expenses paid for commuting to and from your home and the work base. Sector Evolution: As part of a service undergoing government-led reform, you will have the opportunity to adapt and help shape future service delivery. Qualifications & Experience: To be successful in this role you must have: DfE Compliance: Must have at least 3 years of post-qualifying experience (PQE) in direct permanent employment with an English Local Authority in a Child & Family context. ASYE Completion: Must have successfully completed the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (if qualified since 2012). Advanced Knowledge: Evidence significant skills and knowledge in assessing and managing risk for high-vulnerability cases. Strengths-Based Approach: A deep understanding of asset and strengths-based social work frameworks. Problem Solver: Confident decision-making skills with a passion for collaborative family work.
