Head Chef / Culinary Operations Manager

Responsibilities

• Be able to man all stations in order to support and guide the team, and cover staffing gaps where necessary
• Take responsibility for food quality control and SOP management
• Partner with the owners to shape the culinary direction and support menu planning
• Oversee the planning and fulfilment of catering, events, and B2B contracts where applicable
• Oversee and manage inventory and ordering of doughs, ingredients, packaging materials, and other supplies required for smooth outlet operations
• Ensure strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations for yourself and the wider team, while maintaining a clean and orderly workplace
• Handle customer enquiries, B2B and catering quotations, and ensure customers are satisfied with our food and services
• Act as a leader, coach, and manager to junior team members, and foster a team culture of trust, performance, and teamwork

Requirements

• Strong culinary background, or experience in an adjacent industry if you can make a strong case for why your skills are relevant
• A deep passion for food, curiosity, and the ability to learn new concepts quickly
• Detail-oriented mindset with a strong sense of accountability
• Experience with inventory management
• Good organization and time management skills
• Outstanding customer engagement and communication skills
• Good communication in English required
• Solid knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices

Head Chef / Culinary Operations Manager Park Bäckerei is a German bakery located in Icon Village, Tanjong Pagar, with a focus on pretzel-based baked goods across dine-in, retail/takeaway, and catering settings. Our pretzel-baked goods range includes authentic German pretzels, sweet Laugen buns, stuffed bagels, and other mouth-watering baked goods, using only the highest-quality ingredients. We have also built up a strong portfolio of authentic German hot dishes, from Currywurst to Pork Knuckle, as well as higher-end culinary gems such as 48-hour slow-cooked beef brisket with red cabbage and German lingonberry sauce. We currently operate two outlets in the Marina / Tanjong Pagar area and are building a first-class team to create bandwidth for expansion and growth. We are looking for a driven individual to manage our culinary operations, as well as catering and delivery planning. The right candidate should be good with people and have the talent to organize, maintain, and improve workflows and processes in a well-run workplace. Ambition and the drive to take on greater responsibility over time are a plus. A culinary background, such as Sous Chef or similar, is a must. Experience with baked goods, German, and European food is a big plus.
