[What the role is] As a member of our Biology Division team, you will play a critical role in analysis and reporting of casework and research & development (R&D) in the area of forensic biology. [What you will be working on] - Conduct and supervise DNA analysis of crime samples - Interpretation and statistical analysis of forensic DNA results - Preparation and review of reports, and provision of expert Court testimony - Participate in QA/QC activities - Plan and perform R&D studies - Analysis of R&D results and publication of findings - Assist the Laboratory Director in general laboratory administrative matters and technical staff training [What we are looking for] - Background in Life Sciences, with coursework modules in Mendelian Genetics, Biochemistry, and Molecular Biology, from a recognized university. - Sound life sciences knowledge with proven expertise in molecular biology/genetics as evidenced by publications in international peer-reviewed journals. - Preferably have 1-2 years experience with statistical software (e.g. R, SPSS, SAS) in life sciences setting. - Familiarity with population genetics or metagenomics on MPS will be an advantage. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Collaborative team player with initiative and able to work independently.
