BPHC provides direct clinic services to people seeking health care; monitors disease trends; provides education and training to service providers and community groups; conducts research; and develops policies and programs to deliver high-quality clinical care which best serve New Yorkers. Position Summary: The Principal Administrative Associate, Level I, will function as an Office Manager and will work in one of the Bureau's clinics. This person will report directly to the Supervising Public Health Advisor. Job Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Assigns work to subordinates and establishes a schedule for its completion and ensures accuracy and confidentiality of data and other information through regular quality assurance activities. 2. Ensures accuracy and confidentiality of data and other information through regular quality assurance activities. 3. Ensures that clinical providers are available to ensure smooth operations of the chest center. 4. Reviews work of staff and evaluates work performance; takes corrective action when needed to maintain the work of the unit and individual proficiency at a level that is satisfactory to higher management. 5. Trains subordinates in new procedures and/or job skills, as needed and provides orientation to office rules, policies, and procedures. 6. Prepares and edits correspondence, functions as the site Communications Coordinator. 7. Serves as a primary back-up to the CAM as center, bureau or agency liaison/representative to other government agencies, private institutions and/or the general public. 8. Primary responsibility for drafting correspondence, answering telephone or in person inquiries and requires special knowledge of office operations. 9. Attend meetings on behalf of the center, bureau or agency. 10. Participate as an active member of the chest center management team. 11. Assists with special administrative tasks and projects whenever necessary to facilitate patient care. 12. Monitors and sign off on all time and leave matters for clerical associates and temp staff.
