ASSOCIATE PRODUCT DEVELOPER ROLE SUMMARY This role supports the Shark business by driving execution and continuous improvement of existing product lines while helping inform future product development through insights and lessons learned. The Associate Product Developer acts as a product and market expert, owning key aspects of the in-market portfolio and ensuring strong performance across the product lifecycle. The role focuses on managing and improving in-market products while partnering cross-functionally to drive performance, resolve issues, and execute portfolio initiatives. It maintains alignment with upstream development by contributing insights and staying informed on future launches to support smooth transition into the line business.

Responsibilities

  • Product Line Ownership & Lifecycle Management
  • Manage assigned product lines across lifecycle stages (launch, growth, optimization, end-of-life)
  • Drive SKU extensions and global/geo expansion initiatives
  • Identify product, quality, and customer experience issues and partner cross-functionally to resolve
  • Ensure product performance across sales, quality, customer satisfaction, and financial targets
  • Product Performance & Insights
  • Partner with Product Integrity (PI) to track and analyze performance (sales, reviews, returns, quality)
  • Translate insights into actions that improve performance and customer experience
  • Drive cost optimization and value engineering initiatives
  • NPD Partnership
  • Share in-market learnings through PI (CSAT, quality, performance gaps)
  • Participate in NPD touchpoints and stay aligned on upcoming launches
  • Build readiness for transition of products into LBM
  • Cross-Functional Execution
  • Coordinate across Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Marketing, Sales, and CX
  • Drive execution by aligning teams, timelines, and priorities
  • Product Support & CX
  • Own maintenance of FAQs, troubleshooting content, and support materials post-transition
  • Partner with CX and PI to capture feedback and feed learnings into NPD
  • Cost & Portfolio Execution
  • Drive SKU execution and cost reduction initiatives
  • Maintain balance of cost, performance, and consumer experience
