Responsibilities

  • The Manager, Recovery Support Specialist is responsible for the overall direction and guidance of the Recovery Support Specialist (RSS) staff. This position supervises employees and participates in the selection, orientation, counseling, and evaluation of RSS staff.

  • Pe rform s duties of a R ecovery Support Specialist to help fill schedule as needed to ensure coverage . Ensures that staff have the necessary resources and training to provide successful individual care.
  • Facilitates quality through chart audits as required for paraprofessional status.
  • Works to lessen the instance of seclusion and restraint by building therapeutic alliance and exercising trauma informed care.
  • Collaborates with leadership tea m to oversee the quality of care. E xp lores new projects and/or revenue sources for department and completes as assigned.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 6 years of peer specialist or related experience
  • Certified P eer Counselor (CPC) through the Health Care Authority's Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery
  • 2 years of managerial experience
  • Knowledge of multiple peer modalities (principles of recovery, WHAM, WRAP, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Trauma Informed Care Philosophy
  • Must be able to perform Safe Clinch restraint techniques
  • Must be able to obtain a Food Handlers Card for the State of Washington (BHS/RSS positions)
  • The Company has a mandatory vaccination policy. All successful applicants must be fully vaccinated, including showing proper documentation, or otherwise be exempt pursuant to the Company's exemption process prior to their start date as a condition of employment
  • Complete all credentialing requirements within the required time period, including but not limited to obtaining a National Provider Identifier (NPI), Medallion enrollment, Medicare enrollment, and any other necessary credentials as required for the role
  • Physical Requirements
  • Safely perform physical interventions (e.g., standing, pivoting, reaching, kneeling, lowering to the floor, and supporting another person's weight)
  • Lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs. occasionally
  • Tolerate prolonged walking, standing, and observation in a fast-paced environment
  • Work with individuals who may exhibit agitation, aggression, or unpredictable behavior
  • It would be great if you had:
  • Personal experience in recovery from mental illness and/or substance use/addiction
  • Previous multi-entity healthcare system experience
  • Knowledge of the Washington State b ehavioral health system principles
  • Completion of specialized peer certifications (WHAM, ASIST, etc.)
