Our structures team specialises in the delivery of bridges, reservoirs, pump stations, water treatment plants, marine structures, retaining structures and major structural infrastructure across Aotearoa. We are currently seeking an experienced Structures Supervisor to join our Auckland team, supporting the delivery of medium to large-scale structural projects across Tāmaki Makaurau. This is a senior site-based role suited to someone who comes from a strong heavy civil structures background and has led complex reinforced concrete works on major infrastructure projects. In the role You will lead structural construction activities across a diverse portfolio of projects including: Large bridge structures ($50m+) Wastewater treatment structures Reservoirs and storage tanks Pump stations and underground structures Rail structural works Retaining structures and associated civil infrastructure This role requires a supervisor who understands the full structural construction cycle from temporary works, sequencing and pour planning through to QA documentation, subcontractor coordination and programme delivery. We are specifically looking for candidates with proven experience supervising reinforced concrete and structural steel structures in heavy civil environments. Candidates whose background is primarily earthworks, pavements, utilities or vertical commercial construction without significant civil structures experience may not be suitable for this role. You'll work closely with engineers, subcontractors, clients and frontline crews to safely deliver high-quality structural outcomes while driving strong site culture and production performance. In addition to the above you will: Lead and coordinate day‑to‑day activities of the site crew and subcontractors on structural works. Plan, sequence and supervise reinforced concrete, precast and structural steel operations for bridges, reservoirs and associated civil structures. Champion HSQE on site, ensuring all works meet Fulton Hogan and statutory health, safety, quality and environmental standards. Monitor progress against programme and specifications, troubleshooting issues and resolving on‑site challenges promptly. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, designers, suppliers, inspectors and other stakeholders. Maintain accurate records of work completed, quality checks, incidents, variations and daily site progress. Coach, support and develop team members, helping create a positive, low‑ego, high‑performance site culture Report progress, issues, and needs to the Project Manager We're looking for someone with: Minimum 10 years' experience in heavy civil construction with a strong focus on structural infrastructure Minimum 5 years in a Structures Supervisor, Superintendent or equivalent leadership role Proven experience delivering reinforced concrete structures on large infrastructure projects such as bridges, reservoirs, water treatment plants or similar heavy civil works Strong understanding of structural concrete construction methodologies including: Formwork systems Falsework and temporary works Reinforcement installation Concrete placement and pour sequencing Precast installation Structural steel erection Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, specifications and construction programmes Strong knowledge of QA processes, inspection requirements and concrete quality standards Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and managing complex structural interfaces Confident communicator who can lead crews while also engaging effectively with clients and consultants A hands-on leadership style with a strong focus on safety, planning and team culture Good Work equals Good Benefits Company Vehicle KiwiSaver employer contributions Parental leave top-up payment with additional return to work support Family scholarships Career growth and progression opportunities Great discounts at a wide range of retailers, plus additional fuel discount card Medical insurance "an eligibility period applies" Life insurance At Fulton Hogan, we genuinely care about the wellbeing of our people and giving them the tools and opportunities they need to succeed and grow with us.
