About the role

Job Responsibilities: 1. Design & Engineering ▸ Develop mechanical layouts, structural frames, enclosures, brackets, and mounting systems for electromechanical assemblies using 3D CAD (SolidWorks). ▸ Create detailed engineering drawings, assembly drawings, and BOMs. ▸ Design cable routing schemes, wire harness trays, conduit paths, and connector mounting provisions within mechanical enclosures. ▸ Perform stack-up tolerance analysis to ensure fit, form, and function across mechanical and electrical interfaces. ▸ Evaluate DFM and DFA principles to optimise designs for workshop assembly. 2. Project Execution & Coordination ▸ Manage project scope, schedule, and deliverables from concept through FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and site commissioning. ▸ Prepare and maintain project plans, milestone schedules, engineering change notices (ECNs), and risk registers. ▸ Coordinate with electrical engineers, procurement, fabrication, and third-party vendors to ensure integrated delivery. ▸ Responsible in product design reviews and facilitate technical alignment between internal teams and customers. 3. Assembly Integration & Testing ▸ Oversee and technically support mechanical assembly of electromechanical units including panels, drives, sensors, and control cabinets. ▸ Define and execute integration test plans: continuity checks, torque verification, vibration & shock assessments, and thermal validation. ▸ Collaborate with electrical teams during wiring, termination, and functional loop tests to ensure mechanical provisions are correctly implemented. ▸ Troubleshoot assembly non-conformances and interface conflicts between mechanical and electrical sub-systems. ▸ Support FAT, SAT(Site Acceptance Test), and commissioning activities when required. 4. Quality, Standards & Compliance ▸ Ensure designs and assemblies comply with applicable standards and customer-specific requirements. ▸ Conduct in-process and final dimensional inspections; review weld, paint, and surface-treatment quality per specifications. ▸ Maintain engineering document control - drawings, specs, test records, and certificates. ▸ Support ISO 9001 / Design & Development internal audits and continual improvement initiatives. REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS: ▸ Advanced 3D CAD proficiency: SolidWorks, AutoCAD - including assembly modelling and drawing release. ▸ Knowledge of enclosure design: sheet metal, die-cast, and GRP housings; IP/NEMA ratings, thermal management, and EMC shielding. ▸ Familiarity with electrical schematics (reading/reviewing) and ability to coordinate with E&I engineers on layout conflicts. ▸ Experience with ERP/MRP for BOM management, work order tracking, and procurement. ▸ Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, and PowerPoint for project reporting and data analysis. ▸ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to apply FMEA, FTA, and reliability analysis methods.
