Please see Additional Information section below.*** You will serve as a INTERDISCIPLINARY-SOCIAL WORKER/PSYCHOLOGIST in the MANPOWER AND RESERVE AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION IWAKUNI. In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing substance abuse treatment or counseling services; conducting substance abuse assessments; developing treatment or service plans; providing case management services; and making referrals to appropriate behavioral health, medical, or community services. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Conditions of Employment Continued: - Must meet credentialing and certification requirements. A Master's or Doctoral- level degree from a college or university with a program nationally accredited in social work, marriage and family therapy, counseling, psychology, or other appropriate human service and/or mental health professional degree. - Ability to obtain supervision that will be applied towards their licensure under an approved supervision plan as required by the state licensing board from which they are seeking licensure, and meet any applicable requirements related to credentialing and privileging in accordance with Service SAP headquarters policies. Hiring program does not guarantee program supervision hours will be applicable towards state licensure. Licensure/certification shall be completed within a 36-month period. - This position is subject to an initial drug screening, and random testing thereafter. A negative drug test result must be received by HR within 30 calendar days after the EOD (i.e., start date). The selectee's inability to successfully pass; or refusal to conduct the test may result in: 1) the tentative or final job offer being withdrawn during the recruitment process; or 2) subsequently being removed from Federal service for failure to meet a condition of employment.
