Job Responsibilities: Responsible for the prevention of incidents, responding to emergencies, and enforcing facility rules related to aquatic area. Enforces the facility and pool rules. Assists with keeping aquatic area clean and safe every shift that is worked. Ensures supplies are maintained in the department. Alerts fitness supervisor or manager of aquatics regarding functionality and/or availability of equipment. Completes incident reports when incidents occur and alerts fitness supervisor or manager of aquatics. Skills and Attributes: Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Works under minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Position Requirements: Work Experience No experience required Education High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher preferred Licensure/Certification/Registration Lifeguard certification from the American Red Cross required upon hire OR Lifeguard certification from Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) required upon hire OR Lifeguard certification from Ellis and Associates required upon hire Organizational Responsibilities: Supports Owensboro Health's Mission, Vision, Core Commitments, and business interests.
