Teacher's Aide

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED is required and must be 18 years of age. Experience with young children is preferred . Employment is contingent upon successful completion of all DSS-required background screenings in compliance with South Dakota Administrative Rules for Licensed Child Care Programs.
• Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25-50 pounds .
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and kneeling to engage with students at their level.
• Outdoor supervision in various weather conditions (heat, cold, light rain).
• Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations, including physical intervention to prevent harm if necessary.
• Princip al Responsibilities:
• Supervise and interact with children at all times while maintaining a safe and inviting environment .
• Teach lesson plans as directed by full-time teachers.
• Ensure a positive approach to managing the behavior of all children.
• Create and maintain an open and professional relationship with all families , Center staff and children while maintaining confidentiality.
• Ahere to all Center and licensing requirements and policies.
• Ensure consistent attendance to maintain correct child/teacher ratios.
