About the role
This position is part of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency. The incumbent serves as an advisor to the Deputy Assistant Director for Strategy and Initiatives and other agency officials regarding strategic planning and improvements to the organizational processes performance with regards to global/functional initiatives impacting the Security Cooperation mission. You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: serving as an analyst for strategic planning efforts supporting agency and security cooperation priorities programs, awareness and analysis of national security foreign policy and defense guidance and strategies, and project management skills sufficient to lead or participate in security cooperation studies, analyses, evaluation and implementation. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
