As an Environmental Specialist- Power Innovation, you will manage end-to-end permitting and regulatory approvals for fast-paced Power Innovation projects, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal requirements. You will develop permitting strategies, coordinate across technical, legal, and regulatory teams, manage stakeholder engagement, and track obligations throughout development and construction. You will support PUC/PSC approvals, advise on conditions tied to certificates, and prepare assets for operational handoff. In senior specialist roles, you will focus on strategy and negotiation, while in mid-level specialist roles, you will execute drafting, data compilation, and process management. Responsibilities/Expectations: Develops, maintains, improves and provides guidance on environmental processes/policies Assesses environmental risk, provides recommendations to address risk and participates in or runs the approved course of action, including required regulatory documentation Coordinates regular environmental planning, scheduling and cost estimating, including preparation of environmental impact assessments Provides guidance and mentorship to others and is involved in industry associations and environmental communities Leads projects or programs with significant risk and complexity to achieve objectives; develops the strategy for project execution and handles resource requirements Other duties as assigned Education/Years of Experience: Required: Bachelor's degree and minimum fifteen (15) years of multifaceted environmental experience Preferred: Minimum ten (10) years' experience in environmental soil and groundwater assessment and remediation at CERCLA (Superfund) and RCRA sites Other Requirements: Preferred: Expertise with project management and stakeholder engagement for projects requiring Public Utility Commission (PUC) or Public Service Commission (PSC) approvals or certificates Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills #LI-KM2 About Pittsburgh Pittsburgh is a city full of adventure.
