The FM is seeking a passionate and creative individual to join the Education and Interpretation team, developing interpretive experiences that bring the story of Singapore's founding to life for families and younger visitors and promote inter-generational connection. You will play a key role in making FM's exhibitions and programmes accessible and meaningful across generations - translating rich historical content into engaging, age-appropriate experiences that spark curiosity and conversation. [What you will be working on] Family i nterpretive l ayer s for e xhibitions : Working closely with a nother member in the team , you will develop the interpretive layers for families across FM's permanent and special exhibitions - translating complex historical narratives into accessible and engaging content for visitors of different ages. This includes developing family-oriented resources such as activity sheets, guides, and other interpretive materials that support inter-generational exploration and conversation within the exhibition. You will work collaboratively with the Curatorial and Exhibitions teams to ensure that the family interpretive layer is well-integrated into the overall exhibition experience. You will also be involved in the fitout of a dedicated Family Space in the Memorial which will support regular family programmes (such as storytelling and craft activities) post-opening. Project Citi zens : As part of the Education and Interpretation team, you will contribute to the collecting and processing of stories collected through "Project Citizens" - FM's public call for stories of the founding generation, launched in 2025. Beyond processing the stories for display, you will take an active role in following up with contributors , which include conducting further interviews and coordinating photography and video documentation , to develop richer story features for the Project Citizens wall at the Memorial. This aspect of work calls for sensitivity and care, and the ability to build rapport with seniors. C ontent development for exhibitions for inter-generational audiences: Post-opening , y ou will support the development of interpretive layers and activities for families for special exhibitions and events , as well as installations and exhibition s designed specifically for inter-generational audiences at the Memorial. You will be required to draw on your understanding and research on how inter-generational audiences engage with content at museums, to ensure that FM remains a welcoming and meaningful destination for visitors of all ages. [What we are looking for] Relevant qualifications or equivalent professional experience in education, museum studies, history, heritage interpretation, or a related field . Preferably a t least 2-3 years of experience in a related role, preferably in a museum, heritage institution, or educational setting . Demonstrated ability to conduct historical research and translate complex content into accessible, engaging points of engagement for family and inter-generational audiences . Audience Management - Ability to develop and implement complex engagement strategies and activities that cater to different visitor segments, evaluate the effectiveness of engagement strategies and activities, lead and manage programming teams to develop engagement ideas and concepts that align with objectives. Stakeholder Engagement - Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to conduct sensitive inter-generational conversations - including interviews with elderly contributors - with empathy and professionalism . An interest in or appreciation of Singapore's history and founding story is essential . Good written and communication skills, with the ability to write clearly and engagingly for diverse audiences .
