The Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing the procurement of indirect goods, services and capital expenditures. This role ensures seamless integration and coordination across procurement and site operation functions to support the organization's operational and strategic goals. The role is expected to drive cost efficiency, ensure regulatory compliance, and optimize supply chain performance.
Responsibilities
Build strategic relationships with stakeholders to understand business needs, identify value-creation opportunities, and position Procurement's value proposition
Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies for indirect goods, services, and capital expenditures, ensuring assurance of supply, quality, regulatory compliance, service levels, cost competitiveness, and innovation
Lead end-to-end sourcing activities, including RFP/RFQ processes, definition of selection criteria, total cost of ownership analysis, negotiations, and alignment with stakeholders and management
Own contract lifecycle management for indirect and capital categories, from contract development and execution through renewal, performance management, and risk mitigation
Act as Subject Matter Expert for P2P (BGS), ensuring compliance with Global Haleon Buying Goods and Services guidelines and driving correct process adoption across the business
Provide expert support on Third Party Risk Management (TPRM), compliance, and governance, ensuring suppliers meet corporate, legal, and regulatory requirements
Lead relationships with critical suppliers, ensuring secure, cost-effective, and reliable supply of commodities including pharmaceutical machinery (primary & secondary), MRO, EHS, QA lab consumables and equipment, utilities, and facilities management
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost and lead times while improving quality and service levels of bought-in goods and services, leveraging data, analytics, and performance dashboards
Generate procurement savings in line with business-defined targets, lead value engineering and productivity initiatives, ensure savings are reviewed and aligned with Finance, and accurately logged and tracked in the approved savings management system
Ensure full compliance with GMP, Quality, Environment, Health & Safety, and sustainability requirements, in line with local laws and Haleon Corporate Policies and Guidelines
Candidate profile:
Bachelor's or master's degree provides the foundational knowledge and analytical skills required to manage procurement activities with prior manufacturing industry experience
