NYC Department of Finance (DOF) is responsible for administering the tax revenue laws of the city fairly, efficiently, and transparently to instill public confidence and encourage compliance while providing exceptional customer service. DOF's Tax Audit and Enforcement Division is charged with the audit of all business and excise taxes administered by New York City. The division conducts audits related to corporate, personal, sales, and use taxes. City tax auditors conduct audits of selected audit candidates with a goal of determining the appropriate tax liability of each taxpayer and applying NYC rules and laws in accordance with the City's policies and procedures. The Office of Tax Audit is charged with the audit of all business and excise taxes administered by the City of New York. Tax Audit conducts audits of general corporation tax, business corporation tax, commercial rent tax, unincorporated business tax, hotel tax, utility tax, real property transfer tax, and bank tax. Tax Audit also conducts NYC personal income tax and sales and use tax audits within New York City. Tax auditors conduct audits of selected candidates in the various administered taxes, with a goal of determining the appropriate tax liability of each taxpayer. The Office of Tax Audit includes the Field Unit, which conducts audits in the field, and the Non-field Unit, which conducts correspondence audits. Tax Audit is seeking a highly motivated, organized and detail-oriented individual, to serve as an Administrative Operations Coordinator, for the Deputy Commissioner of Tax Audit and Enforcement unit. Reporting to the Supervisor of Administrative Operations, the selected candidate's duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: - Prepare and coordinate with the supervisor, manager, coordinator on all Tax Audit and Enforcement Division's "Other Than Personnel Services" (OTPS) operations, such as Employee Move Information, work orders using Office Space, Telephone Directory updates, keep inventory of all printers, copiers, fax machines, scanners, PC's, laptops, date time machines and telephones. - Prepare and assist the Operations Coordinator with OTPS, for the PassPort System, purchasing office supplies for the division by browsing on-line vendor catalogs, creating requisitions/purchase requests and submitting the order(s) for approval via the PassPort System. Following up with deliveries of requested items. - Assisting the Disclosure Officer with audit and tax document requests from auditors and managers to NYS for the purposes of the NYS Sharing Agreement Exchange Program and the Exchange of Information Agreement Program between NYS and NYC. Facilitate the exchange of information between DOF and NYS. - Prepare Out-of-Town Travel Requests, obtaining receipts for up to two (2) days of travel. Ensuring that travel requests forms are complete with detailed information, with all required signatures. Research cost using General Services Administration (GSA) government standard cost allocation. - Assist with reviewing and the submission of the division's Authorized Driver applications and renewal process. Ensure all supporting documents are submitted with the applications. Requests for City Vehicle are submitted to supervisor for review and submitted to Facility Management Fleet Coordinator for processing. - Assist with personnel services, work schedules changes, work unit changes, and reporting changes. Distribution of paychecks and pay stubs. - Answering phones, managing calendars, scheduling meetings, preparing and editing correspondence, spreadsheets, presentations and other documents, maintaining files and retrieving documents and reference materials. - Coordinate and administer audit/tax document requests from managers to Federal and NYS. - Assist with IT related issues such as inventory and equipment repairs, PC's Laptops, phones, and office equipment. Assist with the Assistant Commissioner's front desk coverage and calendar appointments. Perform general office administrative functions and special projects requested by the division's executive staff. - Ensure equipment is operational and stocked with necessary supplies. - Perform special projects as directed by supervisor.
