Manage disorders of the GI tract, including esophagus, stomach, small/large intestine, liver, pancreas.
Provide care for acute and chronic conditions: GERD, IBS, IBD, celiac disease, peptic ulcer, H. pylori, Barrett's esophagus, & esophageal motility issues.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including GI nurses and anesthesiologists, for optimal patient outcomes.
Participate in after hours/weekend call rotation.
Contribute to colon cancer screening and weight-loss/gastro-nutrition programs.
Engage in academic and professional development with Texas Tech affiliation and UMC leadership initiatives.
Requirements
MD or DO, board-certified/eligible in Gastroenterology.
ERCP/EUS skills required.
Texas medical license (or eligibility).
Work Setting
Two endoscopy centers-one at hospital and one in the growing southwestern part of the city.

Position Overview
Seeking a full-time Advanced GI physician to deliver comprehensive adult gastroenterology services across UMC's main campus and the newer GI & Outpatient Services campus. Join a team of fellowship-trained & boarded gastroenterologists using state-of-the-art technology to diagnose and treat a broad spectrum of gastrointestinal disorders.
- Blend of inpatient and outpatient care high procedural volume.
- Advanced call- 7 days per month, consultative inpatient service only when on call.
- Midlevel support M-F from 7:30-5PM.
- GI Fellows support, including after hours and on weekends.
- Brand new, state-of-the-art cancer center opening Spring 2026: Strong collaboration with Hepatobiliary Surgery and Surgical Oncology.
