Director, Accounting

Responsibilities

• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing accounting team , fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
• P rovide strategic leadership and oversight of all accounting operations, including general ledger, revenue recognition, fixed assets, payroll accounting, and monthly close processes.
• L ead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
• P artner closely with Executive Leadership, FP&A, Legal, HR, Operations, and Technology teams to drive financial strategy and operational excellence.
• O versee all external and internal audit activities, ensuring timely completion of audit deliverables and regulatory compliance.
• S erve as a key leader in SEC filings, including 10-Ks, 10-Qs, 8-Ks, and related disclosures.
• D rive continuous improvement initiatives across accounting systems, workflows, controls, and automation processes to enhance scalability and efficiency.
• L ead enterprise-wide SOX compliance initiatives, risk management activities, and internal control optimization efforts.
• D evelop and implement accounting policies and procedures aligned with evolving business operations and regulatory standards.
• P rovide executive-level guidance on complex accounting matters, technical accounting research, and business transactions.
• S upport M&A activities, integration, due diligence efforts, and other strategic corporate initiatives as needed.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Education:
• B achelor's degree in Accounting , Finance, or related field required .
• M aster's degree in Accounting , Finance, or MBA strongly preferred.
• C ertified Public Accountant (CPA) license required .
• Minimum 10 - 1 2 years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience.
• M inimum 4 - 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing large accounting functions and teams.
• S trong expertise in U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, SOX compliance, and internal controls.
• E xtensive experience managing public company audits and working directly with external auditors.
• P roven success leading accounting operations within a publicly traded, healthcare, technology, or high-growth organization preferred.
• D eep experience with ERP systems and financial transformation initiatives; Workday Financials experience strongly preferred.
• D emonstrated ability to lead large teams and influence cross-functional executive stakeholders.

• S trong business acumen with the ability to align accounting operations to company growth objectives .
