Assist in day to day duties of group home OVERVIEW OF POSITION: Attends to the personal care of adults with developmental disabilities living in a licensed residential home. Assists and participates in the planning, coordination and delivery of daily living activities; including outings, to facilitate development of living skills for the residents and help them achieve a higher level of independence. ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: Provides personal care for residents which may include assistance with eating, personal hygiene, showering, restroom assistance, and preparing for bedtime. Assists and/or prepares meals incompliance with dietary restrictions; assists individuals to eat, including those who may require assistance with G-tube feeding. Assists in the administration and monitoring of medications. Assists in care and cleaning of residential home, which includes housekeeping, & laundering of residents' clothing. Conducts daily activities to assist in the development of the residents' living skills, consistent with their Individual Program Plan (IPP) and Individual Support Plan (ISP) goals. Provides continuous active treatment and engagement. Completes all required reports and documentation on a daily basis. Attends all necessary staff meetings and completes all required mandatory trainings. May use company provided vehicle to transport individuals to health care appointments and other various locations. Participates in recreational activities in a variety of settings. Performs other duties as assigned EDUCATION: Typically requires High School Diploma, GED, or national equivalent. DSP-I and DSP-II Certification required or must be attained within first year of hire or first year in position. Must possess and maintain valid CPR, CPI and First Aid Certifications.
