Job Location: Calgary, AB Contract Length: 12 months Work Hours: 40 hrs/wk Job Summary The Mineral Lease & Contracts Analyst provides administrative and analytical support for the acquisition, maintenance, and disposition of mineral leases within a designated geographic area. This role is responsible for protecting and enhancing the company's land interests by preparing, analyzing, and managing agreements, maintaining land records, and supporting cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities Lease & Contract Management - Analyze and interpret terms, conditions, and mineral ownership information within agreements - Develop, negotiate, execute, and manage leases, rights-of-way, and other commercial agreements - Monitor agreements for compliance and contractual obligations - Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual risks - Negotiate resolutions for disputes, claims, and outstanding issues Land & Asset Management - Acquire, lease, steward, monetize, and/or divest surface and subsurface rights - Coordinate land ownership verification and evaluate title risks - Resolve title defects and support due diligence activities - Maintain accurate land records and update land systems to reflect mineral interests and acreage Commercial & Strategic Support - Develop and recommend commercial strategies for acquisition, monetization, and divestiture opportunities - Provide guidance to support business strategies and plans - Analyze contracts and portfolio performance to identify value opportunities Stakeholder Management - Act as primary contact for internal and external stakeholders - Build and maintain relationships with landowners, government agencies, partners, and service providers - Collaborate with royalty and revenue accounting to ensure accurate financial records - Respond to inquiries and provide timely information Administrative & Operational Support - Manage mineral administration activities for assigned geographic area - Process rental invoices and investigate non-payment issues - Coordinate and oversee contract personnel (field and in-house) - Provide litigation support and documentation as required Required Qualifications - Experience with mineral leases, land administration, or contract management - Knowledge of title research, courthouse records, alignment sheets, easements, and acquisition documents - Proficiency in contract analysis, negotiation, and compliance monitoring - Strong understanding of land systems and data management practices - Experience supporting acquisition and divestiture activities Required Skills & Competencies - Commercial negotiation and influencing skills - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities - Attention to detail and data accuracy - Effective communication and stakeholder management skills - Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Preferred Qualifications - Experience in oil & gas, energy, or natural resources sectors - Familiarity with mineral ownership and land management systems - Background in risk management and contract compliance Work Environment - Office-based role with collaboration across field and corporate teams - Interaction with both internal departments and external partners
