The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Technical Training Instructor performing all technical training instructor classroom-related activities, supporting course curriculum development, modification, and/or supplemental Technical Training courses utilizing approved curriculum in support of the Radar, Airfield and Weather Systems (RAWS) courses. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Training Instruction Series 1712 and Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR) BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: ** THIS IS A CCAF POSITION ***For Community College of the Air Force GS-1712 positions only: Section 9315 of 10 USC directs the commander of the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) to comply with standards established by the Secretary of Education to confer associate degrees upon enlisted members who have completed the requirements for the prescribed programs of study. To comply with this directive, all faculty members of the Community College of the Air Force must meet minimum educational requirements as prescribed by the accrediting body Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC), i.e. accreditation criteria. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of a wide range of instructional concepts, methods, and techniques required to develop and plan a variety of difficult and complex courses associated with teaching advanced technical systems or subject-matter areas; Knowledge of the methods, principles, practices, and programs related to curriculum development, instructional techniques, training resources, and test and measurement; Knowledge of directives, concepts, procedures, guidance, and policy as they relate to the area of responsibility; Knowledge of service-based occupations and the associated training/certification requirements for military and civilian personnel; Knowledge of standard analytical and evaluative techniques to analyze training requirements, plan for and develop training materials, evaluate training effectiveness, and solve problems relating to training issues; Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support training operations and produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs. OR EDUCATION: Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B or J.D. with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of a wide range of the principles and practical methods, techniques, and tools of instruction to teach a variety of students with a range of differences such as diverse ages, backgrounds, and levels of interest. 2. Knowledge of radar, airfield or weather system maintenance at a practical level to include knowledge and practical experience of electronic principles. 3. Knowledge of tests and measurement principles, techniques, and objectives. 4. Skill in accomplishing special training studies and projects. 5.
