Monitor patient safety, behavior, and engagement throughout the unit
Provide support with daily activities, including hygiene, meals, and movement around the unit
Assist with crisis intervention and use approved de-escalation techniques when necessary
Conduct routine safety checks and environmental rounds
Accurately document observations, patient interactions, and changes in behavior
Support group programming, therapeutic activities, and patient education
Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and other staff to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
Escort patients to appointments or activities as directed
Uphold all hospital policies, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards
Requirements
High school diploma or GED required; college coursework in psychology or related fields preferred
Previous experience in behavioral health, residential treatment, or healthcare settings is helpful but not required
Strong communication, teamwork, and crisis-management skills
Ability to maintain professionalism and empathy in a fast-paced environment
Must be at least 21 years old (or meet state requirements)
CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain upon hire
