About the role
The TechCare team sits within eCommerce (Everyday Business Banking) and is the frontline technical capability supporting our merchants. As a Merchant Integration Specialist, you'll act as a trusted advisor to merchants and their development teams - guiding them through integration, migration and go-live. This is a unique blend of technical consulting, pre-sales and payments expertise where you'll bridge business requirements and technical execution to deliver seamless outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end merchant integrations and migrations onto Connected Payments
- Act as the technical SME across APIs, payment flows and platform configuration
- Partner with merchant developers and stakeholders to design optimal solutions
- Support pre-sales and solutioning during merchant acquisition and onboarding
- Guide merchants through testing, certification and go-live
- Troubleshoot complex integration issues (APIs, tokenisation, 3DS, webhooks)
- Improve processes and documentation to scale onboarding and reduce time-to-live
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering and Support teams to enhance the platform
- Coach and mentor junior team members, sharing knowledge to uplift the broader TechCare's capability
Requirements
- Essential Experience
- Customer-facing technical experience in payments, eCommerce or fintech
- Proven integration experience (payment gateways, orchestration or platforms)
- Strong understanding of the payments ecosystem (acquiring, CNP, orchestration)
- Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for business audiences
- Experience in solution design, requirements gathering or technical pre-sales
- Technical Capability
- Strong knowledge of APIs, webhooks and integration patterns
- Experience with payment concepts (tokenisation, 3DS, hosted/server integrations)
- Familiarity with API tools (Postman, cURL etc.)
- Exposure to eCommerce platforms (Magento, WooCommerce etc.)
- Knowledge of payment providers (Stripe, Adyen, Braintree etc.)
