AI Agent Developer - Microsoft Copilot, OpenAI (Contract)

You will work across Microsoft Copilot technologies, OpenAI APIs to create scalable enterprise-grade AI solutions that automate workflows, surface insights, and enhance business operations. This role requires hands-on experience with LLM orchestration, enterprise data integration, prompt engineering, agentic workflows, and secure cloud-based AI deployments. This is a temporary, full time position onsite in New York City 5 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop AI agents using:
• Microsoft Copilot Studio
• OpenAI APIs and Azure OpenAI
• Integrate AI agents with existing Microsoft Fabric infrastructure including:
• OneLake
• Power BI
• Data Factory
• Lakehouse environments
• Build multi-step agent workflows capable of:
• Data retrieval and reasoning
• Task automation
• Workflow orchestration
• Conversational interactions
• Document analysis and summarization
• Develop secure API integrations with enterprise systems and databases
• Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures using enterprise data sources
• Create prompt engineering frameworks and reusable AI agent templates
• Optimize AI agent performance, reliability, latency, and cost efficiency
• Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to identify AI automation opportunities
• Ensure governance, compliance, and security standards are maintained across AI deployments
• Must have qualifications

• Strong experience with:
• Microsoft Copilot Studio
• Microsoft Fabric
• Azure OpenAI Service
• OpenAI APIs
• Experience building AI agents and autonomous workflows
• Proficiency in:
• Python
• REST APIs
• JSON
• SQL
• Experience with:
• Vector databases and embeddings
• RAG implementations
• Prompt engineering
• AI orchestration frameworks
• Familiarity with:
• Azure services
• Power Platform
• Power Automate
• CI/CD pipelines
• Git version control
• Nice to have qualifications
• Experience deploying enterprise AI solutions at scale
• Understanding of data governance and AI security best practices
• Experience integrating AI into analytics and reporting environments
• Knowledge of M365 Copilot ecosystem
• Experience with multi-agent systems

• This is a temporary full time position based in New York City . The offered salary range is $75--110/HR hourly, depending on experience and location.
