Graduate Degree (PhD, or PhD abd ) in an area of German S tudies , European Studies or the equivalent with a record of sustained successful teaching of European culture, art, and literature courses at a University level. Native or near native fluency in English. German Culture or European Cultures at a University level. Native or near native fluency in English .
Demonstrated knowledge of the cultural history of Central Europe from prehistoric times to 350 CE and how it is reflected and traced through cultural practices and various art forms in France, Germany, and Scandinavia .
Demonstrated knowledge of the social, cultural and historical bases of these Western societies and how they are reflected and traced through cultural practices and various art forms.
Has successfully taught a course in Cultural Studies with a broad survey of the prehistoric cultures of France, Germany, and Scandinavia through an interdisciplinary perspective.
Has demonstrated teaching competence through previous course evaluations.
8 . Commitment to responsible time management ( e.g. course structuring , punctuality for lectures). Availability for individual consultation with students (office hours 1.5 hours per section per week required ) and proctoring exams.
