Solar Technician Intern

Responsibilities

• Assist Solar Technicians with preventive, corrective, and maintenance activities on solar PV systems and associated equipment.
• Support the operation and maintenance of the solar facility through technical and administrative tasks.
• Participate in equipment inspections and routine maintenance activities under the guidance of experienced technicians.
• Observe and assist with troubleshooting and repair activities as assigned.
• Assist with work order documentation and maintenance records within the preventive maintenance management system.
• Participate in required training, including on-the-job training, self-study, computer-based training, and classroom instruction.
• Learn and follow Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements, including site safety procedures and documentation requirements.
• Support the completion of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Pre-Job Briefs (PJBs), and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) processes as directed.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized manner.
• Work independently on assigned tasks when appropriate and collaboratively with site personnel and maintenance crews.
• Travel to other sites as needed.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and basic electrical knowledge.
• Strong interest in renewable energy and a willingness to learn.
• Understanding of workplace safety principles and the ability to follow safety and environmental requirements.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency with standard business software.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical job duties.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and travel as needed.
• What Would Be Nice
• 2 year technical degree or equivalent Journeyman certification/qualifications is preferred

• Salary Range Across all U.S. Locations
• $47,840 - $47,840 USD
