Position Title Workers Compensation Specialist Days - Full Time Liberty Hospital Position Summary / Career Interest: The Workers' Compensation Tech provides technical and administrative support in the area of Workers' Compensation in the Human Resources Department, primarily reviewing and entering work-related accidents/injuries into databases for timely and accurate reporting. This position will also provide backup support for the Workers' Compensation Injury Counselor. Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions Receives and maintains employee injury reports; reviews employee injury reports and follows up on missing information that is required for accurate reporting Documents work comp claims in the claims management system for uploading to Third Party Administrator's database and for First Report of Injury to the state Maintains the work comp claims management system for tracking open claims and related activities May assist with data report preparation and delivery (i.e. face-to-face presentation and electronic transmission) to Workers' Compensation internal and third-party team members as well as other Health System committees, departments, regulatory bodies, and other entities as requested by the Director or their designee. Provides back up to the Workers' Compensation Injury Counselor Assists Workers' Compensation Injury Counselor in coordinating with the Third-Party Administrator to ensure that protocols are followed and injuries are reported within the required timeframe Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department. Required Education and Experience High School Graduate or GED equivalent. 2 or more years of experience in Workers' Compensation. Experience with Microsoft Office applications. Experience with web-based database and reporting systems. Preferred Education and Experience Bachelors Degree in related field of study from an accredited college or university. 2 or more years of clinical, professional experience. Experience with online work comp related data base(s) and reporting.
