What You Drive at DTNA - Own the design, development, release, and lifecycle management of brake controls hardware within Vehicle Dynamics - Lead integration of mechanical, electrical, and control system components to meet vehicle-level performance and safety requirements - Drive technical decision-making for component and subsystem designs within new and existing vehicle platforms - Plan and support validation and verification activities to ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulatory requirements - Serve as a technical point of contact across manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and supplier partners on assigned components - Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues using structured problem-solving methodologies - Author and review engineering documentation including drawings, specifications, change requests, and technical reports - Contribute to continuous improvement, cost optimization, and system robustness initiatives - Manage component-level deliverables, timelines, and risks in support of vehicle programs - Provide informal guidance and mentoring to Product Engineer I team members while collaborating with senior engineers on complex system topics, design direction, and technical decision alignment Knowledge You Should Bring - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related engineering field and 3-6 years of relevant engineering experience, is required. - Strong working knowledge of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems - Experience with component design, integration, and product release processes - Ability to read, interpret, and create engineering drawings and technical documentation - Proven analytical, root-cause problem-solving, and organizational skills - Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams - An attached resume is required Exceptional Candidates Might Have - Experience with brake systems, pneumatic controls, or safety-critical vehicle systems - Familiarity with validation planning, testing, and data analysis - Experience with product development lifecycle processes and change management - Exposure to cross-functional collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders - Experience with CAD tools such as CATIA, NX, or similar - Understanding of vehicle-level system integration and performance requirements #LI-RR1 #LI-Hybrid Where We Work This position is open to applicants who can work in (or relocate to) the following location(s)- Portland, OR US.
