Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience in 1.) conducting digital media forensics using advanced hardware and software to extract, analyze, and recover data from computers, mobile devices, and other storage media in support of intelligence and law enforcement requirements; AND 2.) maintaining the integrity of submitted evidence by following strict chain of custody procedures, safeguarding materials for biometric and latent print examinations, and resolving accountability discrepancies; 3.) applying current latent print processes and other biometric exploitation techniques to meet legal, forensic, and professional standards across multiple exploitation disciplines; 4.) recommending emerging technical solutions to enhance forensic examination capabilities, improve analytical workflows, and support evolving command exploitation strategies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
