This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as a Digital Forensics Analyst for the Joint Activities located at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience in 1.) conducting digital media forensics using advanced hardware and software to extract, analyze, and recover data from computers, mobile devices, and other storage media in support of intelligence and law enforcement requirements; AND 2.) maintaining the integrity of submitted evidence by following strict chain of custody procedures, safeguarding materials for biometric and latent print examinations, and resolving accountability discrepancies; 3.) applying current latent print processes and other biometric exploitation techniques to meet legal, forensic, and professional standards across multiple exploitation disciplines; 4.) recommending emerging technical solutions to enhance forensic examination capabilities, improve analytical workflows, and support evolving command exploitation strategies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
