Shift 1st shift Mon- Fri 8:00 am- 4:00 pm Location: 1600 W Main St Willimantic, CT 06226 Job description: The Machinist is responsible for hands on fabrication, modification, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance. Work is performed from written and verbal instructions, schematics, manuals, and work orders. Principal Duties & Responsibilities: Machinist (include, but are not limited to) Journeyman Grade Proper selection of materials. Proficient in welding techniques pertaining to machinist work and directing other craftsman in preparation of materials to be machined. Proficient in heat treatment of metals including operation, annealing, tempering, case hardening, and quenching. Proficient in use of Machinist Handbook. Ability to repair machine shop equipment. Given proper materials, tools, prints and specifications, be able to manufacture any part the machine is capable of producing. Diagnose equipment problems, assemble and disassemble, level, align and make necessary repairs or adjustments. Machine tips and dies to tolerance of .0005.
