Shift Supervisor (Portugal)

About the role

The Shift Supervisor (SS) serves as the primary architect of operational stability during the shifts. This is a non-people management role, centered on strategic workflow and capacity governance. Reporting to the Planning & Support Team Manager, the SS provides centralized tactical oversight, tasked with safeguarding operational integrity through proactive risk mitigation and real-time process adjustments.

Responsibilities

• Real-Time operational management: Continuously monitor operational dashboards to maintain total visibility over workflow stability.
• Predictive Risk Mitigation: Identify potential performance bottlenecks and implement preemptive interventions to safeguard TAT (Turnaround Time) and RFT (Right First Time) benchmarks before they are compromised.
• Capacity & Queue Governance: Execute demand-capacity balancing by aligning queue volume and complexity mix with available technical resources, ensuring optimal throughput.
• Decisive Operational Authority: Exercise absolute mandate over shift logistics.
• Tactical Stakeholder Alignment: Act as the primary liaison between the Planning and Support Team and the execution team, exerting influence to align priorities with Group Leaders without a direct reporting hierarchy.
• Seamless Operational Transition: "End of Shift" handover, documenting critical work-in-progress, technical instabilities, and backlog status to ensure zero-risk continuity for the incoming cycle.
• Continuous Process Excellence: Drive operational efficiency by identifying systemic friction points and leading or contributing to Lean-based improvement projects.

• Required Competencies
• Fast paced operational expertise: Extensive experience navigating complex, fast-paced operations. Prior exposure to Industrial Manufacturing, Logistics, or task management frameworks is highly prioritized.
• Analytical & Data Proficiency: Advanced ability to synthesize real-time information from dashboards, identifying correlations between queue volatility and performance output (TAT/RFT) to execute preemptive interventions.
• Capacity & Queue Governance: Proven track record in resource optimization, demand-capacity balancing, and tactical scheduling.
• Bilingual proficiency (English/Portuguese)
• Process Excellence (Plus): Practical understanding of Lean Methodologies or Six Sigma to streamline workflow and eliminate operational bottlenecks.

While we are mostly a remote company, travel is required for some team meetings and cross function projects typically once per month or once per quarter, for some roles like sales or external facing roles travel could be up to 90% of the time.
