About the role

The I&E Project Facility Engineer is part of the Projects Design Engineering organization within the Chevron ENGINE center. This role provides instrumentation, controls, and electrical designs support to Chevron's Shale and Tight onshore assets and is responsible for supporting the analysis and development of I&E engineering solutions for brownfield and greenfield projects on Chevron's onshore facilities and infrastructure. Additionally, this role provides remote technical support for operations, turnaround scope development, and various projects. Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, and work hours are aligned to business needs. Standard working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday to Friday. These may evolve based on operational or business requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Chevron and Industry Engineering Standards
  • Support the design, troubleshooting, analysis and installation of analyzers, electrical power distribution systems, PLC control, field measurement instruments, and other oil & gas process equipment for small I&E capital and expense projects.
  • Developing instrumentation, control, and electrical discipline deliverables (e.g. control philosophies, Cause and Effects diagrams, P&IDs, area classifications drawings, load analysis, electrical one-line diagrams)
  • Support the management of change process for instrumentation, controls and electrical design packages and associated changes.
  • Delivery of I&E engineering construction work package meeting the applicable instrument, control, and electrical specifications. This will require collaboration with Operations, Maintenance and Technical functions within Chevron's assets.
  • Participating and contributing to safety reviews (HazOps, HazAn, etc.), as applicable
  • Managing multiple project deliverables concurrently
  • Provide guidance for technical inquiries, issue technical recommendations, provide equipment and system troubleshooting, improve I&E Engineering tools and support the development and improvement of I&E Engineering work processes.
  • Required Qualifications:
  • 3 years minimum on-site facility experience
  • Bachelor's degree in instrumentation or electrical engineering (B.E./B.Tech.) from a deemed/recognized (AICTE) university
  • Configuration experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (Allen-Bradley or Emerson PAC), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (AVEVA System Platform)

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience in an Automation Systems role with an owner operator, control systems supplier or systems integrator
  • Experience executing greenfield and/or brownfield projects in onshore, upstream, oil and gas facilities
