Internal Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer - Recovered Costal Plastic (RCP) External Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer - Post Consumer Plastic & Recycle As Associate Manager, Quality, RCP under the supervision of the ASEAN Cluster Quality Manager, is responsible for participating in SCJ Quality Engineering programs aimed at preventing product Quality issues, inclusive of meeting product specification and processing requirements. Unique to Recovered Costal Plastic (RCP), is the QMS oversight of the collection network inclusive of audits and site visits. Additionally, the Associate Manager will ensure that production at resin converters meets specification through QMS audits, site visits, production line qualifications and review of laboratory results. The Associate Manager will also support the transfer of technology from SCJ global (protocols, standards, methodologies etc.) to relevant suppliers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Lead/Support new product development project work and production line qualifications Audit production processes and manage the quality system to meet standards Establish the Quality Control Plan & Playbook Participate and/or lead Quality complaint investigations and continuous improvement activities Manage the Quality Metrics & material conciliation Assist in providing knowledge transfer from SCJ global to the recycler converter Assist in auditing the Ecosystem who supply the feedstock as needed Assist in new activities related to the recycling converter assigned by manager Required Skills / Experience / Competencies: Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Polymer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Applied Polymer Science, Chemistry or related field, 4+ years of relevant plastic recycling experience, OR Master's degree in related field 2+ years of relevant plastic recycling experience. Experience with manufacturing plastic resin or experience in a plastic recycling converter factory. Familiarity with standard test methods, including tensile testing, flexural testing, izod impact testing, melt flow index, density and colorimetry. Familiarity with ISO and ASTM test standards and guidelines. Preferred Experiences and Skills Knowledge and experience with preventive quality tools (PPAP, FMEA, DOE, Control Plans, Statistical process control, etc.) Strong record of creative problems solving against ambiguous problems. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to write reports and recommendations based on experimental results and deliver formal presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences at all levels. Consistent drive for skill development and personal growth, especially in broadening scientific areas of expertise. Proactive in taking action to meet challenging goals and business issues. Display of good judgement and timely decisions that keep projects and business initiatives moving forward. Ability to relate well and openly to build productive relationships with a wide variety of people regardless of background and position, including senior management.
