About the role

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Director of Advanced Technologies to lead a team in scoping, evaluating, and implementing cutting-edge advancements in sequencing, sample preparation and new assay creation. Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the advanced technology strategy, ensuring alignment with company objectives and long-term vision.
  • Lead efforts to evaluate and integrate new technologies that expand and improve Personalis products.
  • Participate in forward-looking strategic planning and influence company-wide technology adoption.
  • Identify new initiatives and build consensus across various stakeholder groups with clear success measures.
  • Work closely with bioinformatics teams to design experiments and validate new procedures and analytics.
  • Partner with the operations teams to ensure the smooth adoption of new technologies.
  • Collaborate across functions to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions that drive efficiency.
  • Influence company policy and strategy by partnering executive leadership.
  • Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of scientists to drive innovation and operational excellence.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, inclusion, and professional growth for all team members.
  • Ensure accountability for results and provide strategic focus to support both short- and long-term organizational success.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and influence across all levels of the organization.

  • Education & Experience :
  • Ph.D in a related field with 10+ years of relevant experience, preferably in molecular biology.
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience, with a proven ability to set a clear vision, establish expectations, and motivate teams to achieve results.
  • Demonstrated success in driving performance, achieving objectives, and leading teams to meet departmental goals.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills, with the ability to effectively engage and gain support from senior leadership.
  • Expertise in strategic thinking, decision-making, and negotiation, ensuring smooth daily business operations.
