About the Lead Test Engineer Role: As a Lead Test Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software solutions. You will work closely as part of the development team throughout the software lifecycle, embedding testing into every step of the process. . However as you'll likely work on a variety of projects your responsibilities may also include: Collaborating with others in the development team to integrate testing and a quality assurance mindset into the software development lifecycle. Define and implement structured testing practices, including automated and manual testing strategies. Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites using Python and Pytest. Develop and maintain automated front-end, backend, and API test frameworks using tools such as Cypress, Playwright, and Chai. Perform functional, non-functional, performance, and security testing. Ensure test processes are integrated into CI/CD pipelines for continuous quality assurance. Optimise testing for scalability, speed, and efficiency. Working with and supporting other Technical Leaders in project execution and timely delivery. Collaborating with client teams. What we are looking for in this person: Significant experience delivering at a Lead/Staff Engineer level. Our Leads typically have at least 8 years' commercial experience. Leading test planning and quality strategy across features and releases, ensuring comprehensive test coverage. Working autonomously within an Agile development squad, collaborating closely with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to drive quality throughout the delivery lifecycle. Define and execute functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing activities Practical experience of delivering in an agile environment. Practical experience and knowledge of developing automation testing frameworks for scalable software solutions. Deep knowledge of automation testing frameworks such as Cypress, Playwright, Mocha, and Chai. Deep knowledge of Python and Pytest. Deep understanding of versioning control tools - e.g. Git. Mentor team members on testing approaches, automation practices and quality standards. Practical and real world experience working with databases and cloud environments. Practical experience creating test strategies for large-scale, enterprise applications Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Professional proficiency in English.
