Bachelor's degree in EE, Optical Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
8-12+ years experience in Applications engineering, system/network validation, or optical module engineering
Strong hands-on lab experience with optics and system-level testing
Proficiency in Python for automation and data analysis
Proven ability to lead complex technical investigations independently
Experience working directly with hyperscale or large cloud customers
Hands-on experience with coherent optical modules (e.g., 400G/800G ZR/ZR+) in end-to-end network environments, including validation across switches and routers running SONiC, IOS‑XR, EOS, Junos, and similar network OSes on whitebox and OEM platforms (Cisco, Arista, Juniper, Nokia).
Strong background in Physical layer (Layer 1/Layer 2) interoperability testing, system bring-up, and cross-domain debug spanning optical performance, host interfaces, and network behavior.
Expected Base Pay Range (USD)
173,800 - 257,190, $ per annum
The successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.

What You Can Expect
Lead end‑to‑end debug and root‑cause analysis across optical, electrical, firmware, and system layers, including interoperability between modules, switches/routers, and optical line systems
Partner closely with a hyperscale customer on product bring‑up, qualification execution, technical escalations, test plans and product definitions
Define, develop, and execute validation and debug test plans for coherent pluggable optics (e.g., 400G/800G/1.6T ZR/ZR+) operating within open line systems and network equipment
Develop Python-based automation for test execution, data collection, and analysis
Drive clear technical communication and corrective actions with internal engineering teams
Create essential technical documentation (application notes, qualification summaries, debug reports)
