Essential Functions Seed, water, plant and mulch outside plantings, lawn and turf. Trim, prune, weed and cultivate shrubs and ground cover. Rake, sweep and remove leaves from walking surfaces, beds and lawns. Clean leaves and debris from storm drains and window wells. Remove trash and debris from all public areas by regularly inspecting grounds, including streets, sidewalks, and parking lots for debris. Collect and transport trash from outdoor receptacles to designated central collection points on a daily basis. Clean trash receptacles and signage as needed. Prep athletic playing surfaces, including fields and tennis courts for practice and games. Mow lawns with riding or push mowers, trim and edge around trees, shrubs, ground cover, flowers, sidewalks and buildings. Weed, thin and clean flower beds and other grounds by hand or utilizing proper tools and equipment. Plant and maintain seasonal flowers. Operate snow blowers, tractors, pick-ups with blades and salters and shovel to remove salt and spread salt on snow and ice covered surfaces, including roads, walks, parking lots and athletic fields. Safely operate light vehicles such as pick-ups, tractors, riding mowers, forklift, skid loader/loader, UTV, and portable power tools. Safely operate equipment such as grass trimmers, snow/leaf blowers and other grounds keeping equipment. Obey traffic laws, follow operator instruction and wear appropriate safety equipment such as goggles, ear muffs, gloves or other. Ensure that grounds maintenance equipment is operational by performing routine and preventive maintenance and cleaning of tools, equipment and machines. Non essential: Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role. Physical/Environmental Demands Specific physical requirements or environmental exposures. Physical/Environmental Example Work involves the regular, and at times sustained, performance of heavier physical tasks such as walking over rough or uneven surfaces, bending, stooping, working in confined space, and lifting or carrying moderately heavy (20-50 pounds) items and occasionally very heavy (100 pounds or over) items. The work environment involves exposure to various elements such as chemicals, dust, fumes, cold, heat, noise, vibrations, or dampness, where work exposes the employee to potentially non-disabling injuries. Duties require that work be performed in adverse weather conditions. Work may require exposure to dangerous equipment and machinery. Work usually requires use of protective clothing or gear such as earplugs, hard hats, mask, gloves, insulated clothing, boots, coats, etc. Additional Information N/A Education Required High school diploma or GED Required Certifications/Licensures Work Experience 1 - 3 years Describe Required Experience Minimum of 1 year related experience. Use of commercial lawn mowing equipment required. Follow procedures to efficiently and effectively perform landscape tasks such as maintaining turf, mulching, leaf and debris clean-up, snow removal, planting, watering, etc. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Must be able to safely operate small grounds equipment and power equipment of any kind. Normal courtesy and tact in dealing with others as required. Flexibility to work weekends, evenings and holidays as required. Must be able to successfully complete driver's clearance process. Final compensation offers are determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, job-related experience, internal equity, and alignment with organizational budget.
