We are seeking a Sr. Sourcing Analyst to join our team in Ensenada, Mexico. In this role, you will be responsible for purchasing materials from approved and qualified suppliers with sufficient lead time to prevent material shortages; negotiating prices and conducting competitive bidding procedures, when necessary, to ensure the lowest cost for specific materials; assisting the Purchasing Manager in designing and launching requests for quotations (RFQs) and requests for proposals (RFPs) for assigned materials; and analyzing and evaluating quotations submitted by potential suppliers to ensure that quality, quantity, delivery, terms, and cost are acceptable. Essential Functions: Purchase materials from approved and qualified suppliers with sufficient lead time to prevent material shortages. Expedite the resolution of any issues related to delivery dates, quality, quantity, and the cost of purchased commodities. Negotiate settlements with suppliers regarding issues that have caused company losses, such as poor quality or delivery delays. Recommend cost-saving improvements through changes to purchasing systems, sourcing strategies, and quality standards. Meet with existing suppliers to evaluate their services and products and identify opportunities for cost reduction, quality improvement, or new products. Communicate problem areas or market conditions that could significantly affect production schedules to the Purchasing Manager. Provide direction and/or mentorship to buyers, as directed by the Purchasing Manager. Develop strategies for specific commodities. Perform additional duties as assigned.
