Responsibilities
You will be tasked with a broad range of responsibilities, crucial to the operational efficiency of production processes. These include:
Project Management: Leading automation projects from start to finish, including planning, execution, and monitoring to meet established objectives.
Validation and Process Management: Ensure accurate validation of process management activities, guaranteeing all processes comply with current pharma standards and regulations.
Process/ Manufacturing Automation Technologies: Implement and optimize technologies that enhance automation within production environments.
Configuration and/ or Programming of Automated Systems: Develop and adapt automated systems for improved process control and efficiency.
Validation and Implementation of Automation Projects: Manage the full validation and implementation process of automation projects in accordance with current standards.
Management of Software Backups: Ensure the management and integrity of software backups of automated systems.
Support Production areas & Maintenance department: Provide technical support to production plants regarding automated systems for enhanced operational performance and to optimize process automation and resolve any technical issues.
Support the external support team: Collaborate with the support team to optimize process automation, knowledge transfer of new and/or changed systems/ platform, level 3 support and flexibility to support during outside office hours.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering.
At least 6 to 8 years of relevant experience in a pharmaceutical or related environment (food and/ or chemicals).
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable solutions.
Strong project and (functional) people management skills, showcasing leadership and team collaboration skills.
Adept at problem-solving, demonstrating creativity and innovation in overcoming challenges.
Effective communicator, capable of informing and engaging with peers and stakeholders.
Quick learner, able to adapt and persevere in dynamic environments, demonstrating self-awareness and decision-making quality.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in Dutch and English.

Reporting to the Associate Director Shopfloor Systems, as a Senior Specialist Manufacturing Automation, you will be responsible for implementing, maintaining and supporting business-critical process automation systems and projects within the Business Technology department.

The BT (Business Technology) Shopfloor Systems Team consists of the Shopfloor Systems Lead and a team of 14 specialists responsible for both CAPEX projects and the support of shopfloor systems. The team works on a wide range of automation projects, including the introduction of installations, the implementation and optimalisations of new or existing production equipment, packaging lines or utility systems.
